Sundays at Cornerstone
To help you plan your visit, here's what you can expect from one of our Sunday services.

Location
We gather from 9:30am at Queen Boudica Primary School, Cowper Crescent, CO4 5XT.
There is plenty of free parking in the school car park.
You will know you are in right place when you see our flag, which is just near the main entrance.

Welcome
As you arrive, there will be someone from the church family to welcome you.
If you would like to let us know you are planning to come, do get in touch and we can answer any questions you may have.

Breakfast
From 9:30am, tea, coffee, and a light buffet breakfast are available. Gluten free and dairy free options are always available.

Up until 10am, we eat, chat together and find a table to sit at.

Seating
There are no pews here! We prefer to sit together around tables. There are also no 'set seats' so you can sit wherever you like.
Bibles are placed on each table. Everything else you need for the service will be provided.

Service
Our more structured time together is from 10am until around 11:15am.
Our service has a relaxed feel and you can join in as much or as little as you want.

Music
We have a music band and sing songs with a variety of styles, both contemporary and traditional.
To hear songs we have sung recently, do listen to our Spotify playlist.

Sermons and Prayer
We read God’s word and hear it preached, knowing he wants to speak to us. Our sermons are usually expository, meaning we will go through a book of the Bible, passage by passage, over successive weeks.
We respond to God's word by praying; one of the church family will lead this time of prayer.

Kid's Work
Just outside of the school hall is the area we use for our kids groups; Pebbles and Rocks.
In these groups the Bible is taught to children up to age 14 through games, crafts and discussion.
All leaders of kids groups are DBS checked and we also have leaders with paediatric first aid training.

Students
We love having students and provide taxis from University of Essex every Sunday at 9:30am.

Most Sundays, students will be offered lunch too, as well as an opportunity to ask any questions they have about the sermon.

Time to chat
After our formal time, there is more time to chat over tea and coffee. From conversations about the sermon, to catching up together, there is always lots to talk about.

Once a month, we have a fellowship lunch together, followed by the Lord's Supper.
